It was that time of year again for valued client Attitude Men’s Hair. Every year they enter the Amercian Crew Face Off competition, a national men’s grooming and photographic competition organised by American Crew, the world’s leading manufacturer of professional male grooming products.
Face Off is a black and white photographic competition which aims to showcase the latest fashion styles for men and recognises some of the UK’s most talented and up-and-coming stylists. Last year’s competition attracted the attention of the men’s hairdressing industry and a record number of entries so it’s a pretty big deal in the Men’s grooming world.
Last night (Friday 23rd September) was the preparation for this years entry and I was fortunate enough to shadow award winning photographer Ian MacMichael as he shot the latest à la mode haircuts to come out of Attitude Men’s Hair salon.
Ian, fresh from being asked for the second time to appear in Vogue Magazine (well, his photo’s anyway), allowed me to tag along and capture the evening as it unfurled. A few test shots, pizza slices and bottles of beer later, we were all done and wrapped up ready to enter the photo’s and styles into this years competition.
Unfortunatly for obvious reasons I can’t unveil the shot’s of the styles. However, keep checking Ian MacMichael’s blog for the results of the competition and you just may get a glimpse of the styles after the results have been announced.
